A little bit about me…..

As you have read from Marty’s bio, we are married and we have a beautiful daughter, Kayla.  Many people question how we can work and live together. It is simply with faith, love, and respect. As he often says, “she hasn’t fired me yet!”.

Yes, I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  There are many things through life that have made me who I am …

Moments from my childhood:

 

• Playing outside until the yard light comes on and momma yelling to come in!
• Chasing lighting bugs and putting them in a Duke’s mayonnaise jar
• Riding bikes, playing Red-Rover, baseball, kickball, and football with neighborhood friends.
• Sharing Little Debbie snack cakes and Kool-Aid in the shade under the big ole cedar trees
• Sitting in the swing to watch the birds fly off the telephone wire in the field as the grass is being cut
• Spending weekends with my cousins snapping beans and shucking corn while the adults watch the NASCAR Race on TV

• Riding the bus home after school and getting the house key out of the “hiding place”
• Listening to Casey Kasem American Top 40 while lathering up to tan with baby oil. Yes, I know that’s not healthy but what can you tell a teenager!
• Trying to learn how to drive a straight-drive Toyota Celica and realizing very quickly that would not work. My first car was a 1987 Honda Civic. Yes, it was an automatic.
• My first job was working at JC Penney. Taught me how to work and deal with the public and manage responsibilities. As you read in Marty’s profile, that’s where I “met my man!”

 

These experiences, family, friends, and faith have made me who I am today.
